The Salvation Army has reached the finals of Innovation Leader’s Best New Initiative Award for creating a connected innovation process, supported by edison365.
After The Salvation Army saw an 800% increase in service demand during the COVID-19 pandemic, they recognized they needed a platform to underpin their existing processes and deliver innovation at scale. They approached edison365 to connect their strategy, innovation, and portfolio management processes and integrate them into the organization as a whole.
Software to underpin the innovation journey
The edison365 Suite offered the non-profit a platform to underpin their approach to every part of the innovation journey. It includes a centralized space to collect ideas from employees and volunteers, a structured and transparent tool to evaluate contributions against business KPIs, and a project management tool that could be configured to suit the different styles of projects The Salvation Army requires.
Steven Bussey, Territorial Mission Strategist, said:
“We’re still in the very early stages of our configuration, but there is a great deal of excitement within the organization. Within a non-profit, people can often be very risk-averse so having a method to not only gather ideas, but to have the ability to demonstrate the value of them and scale them helps removes the risk.
“Outside of the tool itself, the edison365 team so far has offered a really human-centered approach. The team has been so knowledgeable and patient with us, working to pivot to the front-end users. It’s a partnership everyone at The Salvation Army is really enjoying.”
